NALSAR Campus Activities
The rising incidents of animal-human interaction poses a want of structured approach. NALSAR is leading the way by moving towards a systematic and calculated approach in order to create sustainable solutions of eliminating human-animal conflict on the campus.
NALSAR Animal Policies
- The Centre has led the drafting of a Campus Dog Policy with active involvement of the students as well as the University administration to care for community dogs in a more scientific manner. An open house with legal experts and animal behavioral experts was organized to guide the student body with scientific knowledge. The objectives of the policy were-
- To formulate systems and processes concerning feeding, neutering, medical care, adoption, shelter and outreach specifically and other incidental and miscellaneous matters generally, relating to the welfare of street dogs on the NALSAR University campus.
- To mitigate human-animal and animal-animal conflict on the University campus.
- To nurture and protect their welfare and to inculcate the ethos of ‘shared living spaces or ‘co-living’ on the campus.
- The Centre has proposed a Monkey Policy which is drafted keeping in mind the sustainability of the solution. A sensitization program on human-monkey coexistence was organized which may be accessed here .
